Anthony Gillick
My field hockey journey began in high school in Pennsylvania, where a group of friends encouraged me to try out for the team. At the time, field hockey was traditionally considered a female sport in our area, but due to low participation, the district opened it up to male athletes. As one of the few boys in the league, I faced my share of challenges—but joining the team remains one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Known for my speed, I played primarily as a midfielder and wing. During the summers, I attended Lock Haven University’s Field Hockey Camp for four consecutive years, sharpening my skills and bringing new strategies back to my team. In my junior year, I was invited to try out for the USA Field Hockey Futures program at the University of Pennsylvania. After making the team, I had the opportunity to train, travel, and compete alongside some of the top young players in the country. By senior year, I was recognized as one of the county’s leading scorers and was honored to compete in the County Senior All-Star Game.

Although field hockey remained close to my heart, I ultimately chose a different path—joining the United States Marine Corps. That decision launched a 24-year military career, serving as an Infantryman in both the Marine Corps and the U.S. Army. I retired in 2023.

Today, I work as a Project Manager for the State, volunteer with Mudsock Youth Athletics and Team Rubicon, and enjoy life as a proud husband and father of three amazing children (ages 18, 20, and 26). Field hockey may have started as a high school experiment, but the lessons it taught me have stayed with me throughout my life.

Gina Caravaglia
I am a proud two-time graduate of Ball State University and a former four-year member of the Ball State field hockey team. During my collegiate career, I trained and competed in nearly every position on the field, with center midfield being my favorite role.

Originally from just outside Richmond, Virginia, I bring over 13 years of field hockey experience to the game. For the past two and a half years, I have volunteered with Mudsock Field Hockey, where I am passionate about growing the sport and sharing my love for the game with the Fishers community.

Lauren McGrew
Originally from Virginia, I discovered my love for field hockey in high school, where I played for three years—primarily as a left forward—after a lifetime of playing soccer. Field hockey quickly became my favorite sport and sparked a lasting passion.

I went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Wellness from Brigham Young University, where the sport was virtually unknown. After relocating to Indiana with my husband in 2019, I was eager to get involved in coaching—something I had wanted to do for years.

I began coaching with Mudsock Field Hockey in 2021 and have loved being part of the program ever since. I’m currently a stay-at-home mom to four wonderful kids, and in fall 2024, my oldest proudly played her first season of field hockey. In addition to coaching, I actively volunteer at my children’s preschool and serve in my church community.

Shannon Wright
My love for field hockey began in the 6th grade while growing up in Delaware. From the moment I picked up a stick, I was hooked. My passion quickly became contagious—serving as a team captain in high school. I also took it upon myself to recruit classmates to grow the sport I loved. I dedicated my summers to field hockey camps and sharpened my skills year-round by participating in off-season indoor leagues.

I went on to play at the collegiate level for two years at Messiah University. After my sophomore year, I shifted focus to pursue a career in nursing—a calling I continue with purpose and heart.

Now living in Fishers, Indiana, I'm is a proud wife and mom of four. My passion for field hockey still runs deep, and my mission is to see the sport infused in local Indiana schools and communities. I believe field hockey is the best sport in the world, and I'm excited to inspire the next generation of athletes to discover the same joy I found in the game.
